Overview

This luxury safari combining the new Sandringham Private Game Reserve and the Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve (Sabi Sands) offers an exclusive, curated experience spanning two distinct Greater Kruger landscapes. Sabi Sabi provides world-class Big Five sightings and opulent lodges, while Sandringham, also managed by Sabi Sabi, focuses on rehabilitating untamed land for a new frontier of luxury eco-tourism.

Each offering in their unique locations offers guests high-standard lodgings, a classic safari experience, and the embodiment of eco-tourism. This combination allows a difference of landscape and therefore, a different safari experience with unique sightings and animal behaviours. Standing in contrast, but working together in harmony, memories you make here at these lodges will last a lifetime.

On arrival at Hoedspuirt Airport, you’ll be met and transferred by private vehicle to Sandringham Private Game Reserve where you will stay for the next three nights.

Sandringham Private Game Reserve tells a story of conservation transformation. Once a neglected hunting terrain, it is now a proud member of the Sabi Sabi Collection. Spanning 4,500 hectares of revived terrain beneath the silhouette of the Drakensberg Mountains, the reserve thrives with free-roaming wildlife. The vision—to create an open wildlife corridor to the Kruger, enabling movement across the endless bends of the Timbavati River—guides every step of the reserve's conservation efforts.

After some down-time and a siesta back at camp, set off again in the late afternoon when the bush comes alive. It’s then sundowners as night falls, then spotlights come out in search of a new range of creatures. For those needing to expend some energy, a guided walking safari is an ideal way to learn about smaller animals and plants.
